Video camera or camcorder
What kind of video camera do you want? How much are you willing to spend? These are some good questions to keep in mind when thinking about producing video. I would recommend purchasing a video camera that includes an external microphone jack so you can have high quality sound from a separate microphone. A great place to look at for video cameras is at Web Video Zone, but if you're looking for something less expensive, consider buying the inexpensive Samsung SC-D363 camera on ebay. It can be found for as little as $100 brand new and is complete with an external microphone jack.
A way to upload video
This is typically done with the use of an additional, low-cost cord of some sort. This will depend on the type of camcorder you purchase, but they shouldn't cost you more than $10-20 dollars.

How it works- Revver's payment system
Although details of Revver's full payout plan can be found here, I will abbreviate it myself.
You get paid for your Revver videos based on how many views it has and how many people click through the advertisement links that occasionally pop up before and during the video.
The ads that roll during your video don't take up the whole screen so your video is still able to be watched while a small "pop up" advertisement appears in the bottom 1/4 of your video window. These ads are, of course, how Revver gets paid and how you are able to get paid by Revver, so you want them there!
Revver splits all profits with you 50/50. So for every $10 made, you get $5! You can also make money for posting another Revver user's videos! You can actually earn 20% of ad revenue from the video of other members when you post it on your blog, website, etc!

Keep in mind that content is key. Looking at my statistics, realize that most of my videos at Revver are of my cats being silly, baby videos and some other miscellaneous videos.
Your Revver earnings will increase if you have good, original videos.
The quality of the video directly impacts the viewership of your video. If you post videos of your cats being silly, expect to make a quarter per month, per video! If you post an original Simpsons introduction video, you can expect to have millions of views and probably tens of thousands of dollars!
And finally, even if you only post five videos at Revver and they each only earn you $0.25, you will still be making $1.25 per month! That money will continue to compound and add up and you don't have to do a thing!
When you think about it, the earnings you can (very easily) get on Revver can even be more than what most banks pay you in interest each month!

Constant Walker, you CAN make money with youtube videos, but you have to actually "apply" to their partner program (found here: http://youtube.com/partners ). And it's not easy to be accepted...you have to be G O O D and have tens of thousands of subscribers and views to your videos, etc. Good luck with that!

You can submit video recorded from a camcorder, webcam and even a digital camera that has the ability to record video! I just checked my account today and I've got an extra $.15 ! So in 10 days I basically got $.15 for not doing anything...

Yes Claudine, you can post videos on youtube and revver (and a ton of other video-sharing sites) at the same time! Just keep in mind that if you do that, the video might be "penalized" by search engines and it might lose rank. If you don't know what that means or you don't care about that, then go for it- post to several sites!

I actually really like revver. I'm not a fan of new things, but thought I'd give it a try when HP started accepting the revver videos. I love when I log in and see a few more pennies in my account page.
I never knew that you could check your earnings per video, so there's something I definitely learned from reading this. I've earned $2.07 since April. Not much, but pretty cool since all I did was record and upload. I think my top earners have like 0.38, 0.37, and 0.32. lol
I know on my blogs when I can't really think of something to write or when I just want to post a new blog entry, I tend to post a video. I think I'm out of my own though, and I've had to move on to other people's. lol. Do you know if blogger excepts the Revver share revenue, or whatever it's called when you post another person's video and you get a percent of the cash?
I know I've seen people upload like 3-5 videos a day on Revver. I think that's nuts! I guess they're recording TV clips and whatnot. I never pay much attention the them, subscribed to their videos. Oops.

As far as your question about earning money from posting another person's video, YES you do. Revver actually pays you 20% of revenue made from the video of another person that you share.

What you do is you go to revver, sign in, find a video you want to grab and copy-paste the "embed code" right from the page that has the video on it. When you're signed in to revver the embed code contains your affiliate code within it so you get credit for it.

W.C. I understanding the share revenue, but do you know if Blogger accepts it. I know that it's not compatible with HP, but is it compatible with Blogger. Also, do you know what option to use when posting revver videos on myspace? I tried and couldn't figure it out.
Good question. I have to say that I don't know enough about Blogger to know whether or not they'll accept it.
However, according to revver's FAQ section (found here: http://www.revver.com/go/faq/ ), you can use a "grab code" in one of several formats to embed your video in a number of places, including many blogs.
And as far as myspace, revver isn't supported there- YET. Revver does work in friendster and facebook, though.

AceofClubs: it depends heavily on what ads show up for the video and how much the advertisers pay per click. For example, my above video with tips on how to promote your revver video has only earned me $.02 with 68 clicks on the ads.
BUT, my "squeeky cats" video has earned me $.11 with 66 clicks on the ads.
Almost the exact same number of clicks, but quite different earnings.
My three topics of videos (thus far) are:
Baby, cats and earning money through revver.
The baby and cats advertisements pay pretty well.
I have been kicking around the idea of shooting a video that discusses how ridiculous these penis enlargement emails or lottery winning emails are. That way, I might get some of those enlargement or lottery ads shown on the video and earn more money!
If I do that, I'll be sure to post results here.

Singer- you *can* have audio but it would have to be tied to some sort of "video". That video could be just a handful of pictures though if you really want the focus to be the audio! People have certainly done it before, but I don't know how successful it really was.

Marty, I updated the hub to include my hesitancy to use revver anymore because many have not received payouts from revver over the past months and even years.
Revver has also fallen DRASTICALLY in it's standings on google, so I am wondering if it's a sinking ship.
For me, I've been switching my good video content over to youtube and I've gotten several videos to have ads appear on them and earn me money. Maybe I'll write a hub on how to do that in the future...
